National Association of Women in Construction - Dallas Chapter #2
About NAWIC
Women in Construction was founded in 1953 in Fort Worth,
Texas, by 16 women working in the construction industry.
Knowing at that time women represented only a small fraction
of the construction industry, the founders organized to create a
support network for each other.  Women in Construction of Fort
Worth was so successful that they amended their charter to
incorporate other chapters throughout the nation, and on May
17, 1955, they became The National Association of Women in
Construction.

A
video has been produced telling the story of the beginnings
of NAWIC, which is available nationally to encourage women
employed in the construction industry to realize that a dream
can come true.
