Enjoy a time of networking, fellowship and education on Tuesday, July 21st. We'd love to meet you, introduce ourselves and answer any questions you may have about NAWIC.
Time & Location
Jul 21, 2020, 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM
About The Event
Did you know that NAWIC was originally founded in 1953 as Women in Construction Fort Worth? It wasn't until 1955 that these women realized there was a bigger need and expanded into The National Association of Women in Construction that we know and love today!
Did you know that the Dallas Chapter hosts our Annual NAWIC Dallas Golf Classic every spring? This tournament is our main fundraiser for the entire NAWIC year and funds scholarships, community service events, continuing education and SO MUCH MORE! The 27th Annual NAWIC Dallas Golf Classic will be held on April 28, 2021 and we hope to see y'all on the course.
Did you know that NAWIC is divided into geographical regions? The Dallas Chapter was originally housed within Region 7 (Texas and Oklahoma). We reorganized relatively recently and the South Central Region now includes Texas (with the exception of El Paso), Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Memphis, TN. Regions typically host two events throughout the year and it's a wonderful way to get to know women outside of your own chapter and grow your network!
Did you know that NEF-EDU, The NAWIC Education Foundation was established in 1972 by the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC)? NEF is an IRS 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization and is governed by a Board of Trustees. NEF offers educational resources for both professionals and students of all ages. A few of the adult education certifications the provide are:
· Construction Bookkeeping Technician (CBT)
· Construction Document Technician (CDT)
· Construction Industry Specialist (CIS)
· Construction Industry Technician (CIT)
· Estimating & Scheduling Practitioner (ESP)
Did you know that NAWIC offers a wide range of membership types? We strive to engage and benefit this empowered population of Women at all levels, from student to retiree! We also offer a level of flexibility to members to find the fit that works best for all. Different membership types offered are:
· Member at Large
· Student Member at Large
· International Member at Large
Did you know that NAWIC's CORE PURPOSE is to strengthen and amplify the success of women in the construction industry? Here in Dallas, we have an amazing group of members and advocates who are helping us do just that. We hope you will join us tonight and at future events (Like NAWIC Dallas Book Club's next meeting on August 11 @ 7:30PM) to add your voice and your strength to our network. Board members, Debbie Parker, Lindsay Lauderdale, Kevyn Gunn, Nicole Bolton, Candace Jones, Jovina Clark, Stephanie Teetes, Tracey Williams & Kim Gibbons share their NAWIC knowledge.
